What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone benefit from. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
What to expect during a Reiki treatment
During the session, the practitioner will place her hands lightly on or near your body in a series of hand positions, including positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and the feet, as well as other positions based on the client’s needs. Expect to feel deeply relaxed during the session. You’ll likely daydream, and you may even fall into a light sleep which we like to refer to as a meditative sleep.
What to know after a Reiki treatment
Reiki is a beautiful healing modality that promotes self-healing, personal empowerment and well-being. However, people should know that sometimes the treatment can stimulate a mild detoxification process such as fatigue or anxiety. These reactions can occur after a Reiki treatment but subside within 24hrs.
It is important to keep hydrated and not to overexert yourself after a treatment as you allow the energy to assimilate.
